No Blood Draw. No Fasting. No Waiting.
The intended accuracy and convenience of the SCOUT DS™ system is expected to help facilitate widespread, diabetes screening of the at-risk patient population.
- Unlike current screening methods, a SCOUT DS test is designed to be easy to use and have no needles, body fluids or biohazards such that the test may be performed in a variety of locations.
- Unlike current screening methods, a SCOUT DS test is designed to eliminate fasting, enabling measurements to be made any time of day and without prior planning.
- Unlike current screening methods, a SCOUT DS test result is designed to be available at the time of the test so the patient can avoid the inconvenience of a separate trip to the reference laboratory. The individual simply rests his or her forearm on the cradle and, in approximately 60 seconds, the SCOUT DS is designed to generate a result. The result is used by the physician to determine the need for further testing.
Caution: Federal law restricts the SCOUT DS system to investigational use only.
